Guruprasad Udupi

Guruprasad Udupi
Munirka Market, South Delhi
South Indian predominantly, also has indian/ chinese on the menu
Suitable for Home Delivery

In a mood for south indian in south delhi? There are a few options - Naivedyam, Gunpowder, the new Tamilnadu Bhawan, Udupi, Sagar Ratna. Well this one is about the Udupi at Munirka. Its situated at the Munirka market, nice open air restaurant. Well one can go there even during summers as they have equipped the place with a set of coolers. The place would definitely be much better and cooler during winters given its an open air place.

The menu has options for southindian, chinese and Indian. Have never had any other cuisine besides southindian well its an udupi, so obviously. They have the regular dosa, idli, vada, fixed rice menus for everyday of the week. Lemon rice on friday, tomato rice on thursday and so on. Sambhar rice is available everyday but would not recommend that. The idli is okay, vada is good. Try out their dosas - they are the best of the lot. The food comes in good portions especially the Chutney & Sambhar, try a home delivery and you will be drinking sambhar for the next two meals. Besides they also have mini snacks / south indian and north indian meals. Its decently priced, average cost of a dosa is Rs80/- the thalis is for about 150/-

Overall pretty okay but not the best for south indian, the new TN bhawan is any day better. But if you are at home/ office and want to sample some south indian, this place delivers which is decent enough.

About Me

My photo
Some people are born to sing, some to dance, some to play a sport. well I believe that I was born to eat, I am serious. For starters I am always hungry. Well i love food, i just wished it would not add calories. Anyways, if I am at home, id prefer my tais kanda poha and pulao, Moms rasam rice, aloo sabji, dads dal and My fav raita. Outside I have lots of favorites - Big Chill in delhi for Italian, Tomatoes in Ahmedabad for Mexican, Indian could be Vishwa Samrat in Mumbai. Some people eat to live, I think I def live to eat. I might be vegetarian who hates paneer, but i still have a lot of options, cause there are so many eateries in the world and so much to sample! So this blog is an attempt to share my food experiences, my likes, dislikes. I also travel a little bit, so hoping to add listings from different cities. It would be great, if you could drop a line, add your recommendations or comments. Cheers!
