Mamagoto
Select City Walk, South Delhi
Asian - Chinese/ Japanese/ Thai
Awesome, must try!
Mamagoto, recommended by a friend, it is on the second level at select city walk, right next to Fab India. It was a Sunday evening, the place was full, but they managed to give us a table in ten minutes.
Mamagoto (like the name!) serve Asian cuisine. The décor is lovely, bright yellow colored walls with some Japanese paintings. They also have a Japanese version of the last supper ;)
This place serve some fine thai, Japanese / chinese / asian cuisine. Their menu includes dishes like the rock Shrimp tempura, calamari, veg tempura, Canadian pork, new Zealand lamb chops, fish fillet, regular rice and noodles, some veg and non veg wok and curries, among a range of so much variety.
For starters we ordered the crispy chilli potatoes, and oh my, it was too good, nicely cut, long, crispy, perfect for a starter! It can even give a stiff competition to 5 spice in Bombay.
Main course – the waiter recommended the Teriyaki meal in a bowl (veg). It was rice, mixed with vegetables, with Teriyaki sauce. Teriyaki is usually sweet, but had told them to make it a bit spicy. The meal was perfect, it had a sweetish spicy taste. Aahh just awesome! My friend orderd the pan fried noodles with burnt black bean sauce (non veg). The portions are humongous, one main course could have sufficed both of us.
GB wondering how on earth are we going to finish this
Desserts; there are limited options, had the Hazelnut with the squishy choc cake. Its solid at the edges, and squishy in the center. So when you start from the side and move to the center, the cake continues to melt even more, making it more chocolaty than ever.
The service was good, the waiters are helpful, recommended some good dishes, and later also stop by to take feedback on the food. Average meal for two is around 1500 bucks (without alcohol).
Fell in love with this place, post Andhra Bhawan & Big Chill, this is my new favorite!
